How does the SoFi Checking and Savings bonus work?
- Open SoFi Checking and Savings through the referral link. It has to be your first SoFi product.
- Deposit $50 or more within 25 days. Use ACH, direct deposit, debit card, cash, check or wire, since Venmo, Zelle, Cash App and PayPal transfers don't count.
- For the bigger bonus, get to $5,000 (an extra $100) or $25,000 (an extra $300) within those 25 days.
- Keep that balance for 90 days in a row. If you dip below a tier, you get the lower bonus, and below $5,000 you get no extra bonus.
Do you need SoFi Plus for the extra $50?
Not for the referral bonus. The SoFi Plus line in SoFi's share message is about Plus perks. The official referral terms don't give the new customer anything extra for Plus, they only raise the referrer's bonus from $75 to $100. So count on $25 plus the balance bonus.
How do the SoFi loan referral bonuses work?
- Personal loan: $300 once your loan funds. You need to keep the loan active and in good standing for at least 90 days. Not available in Vermont.
- Student loan refinance: $300 welcome bonus once you refinance through the link. Refinancing federal loans means losing federal options like income-based repayment, so think that through first. Not in Vermont.

- Private student loan: $300 once a new SoFi private student loan funds.
Every loan bonus depends on SoFi approving and funding the loan. The bonus doesn't change your rate, so compare the actual loan offer on its own merits. Checking your rate doesn't affect your credit score, according to SoFi.
What about the SoFi Invest and Crypto bonuses?

Only after the loan funds. For personal loans you also have to keep the loan active and in good standing for at least 90 days. Rates and approval come from SoFi's normal underwriting, and the bonus doesn't change your rate.
Can I get more than one SoFi bonus?
